Nusa Penida - The Best Places to See in Nusa Penida

One of the most beautiful islands in Bali, Nusa Penida is famous for its dramatic landscape: floury-white beaches tucked between plunging cliffs and winding roads framed by carpets of green. But don’t think this is all there is to it, as the island has a lot more to offer – from hidden caves and temples to natural pools and stunning views.

To visit all the best places in Nusa Penida I recommend renting a scooter, this way you can easily drive between the main attractions and save a lot of time. However, be prepared to spend some time walking as many of the beaches on Nusa Penida are difficult to reach and you may need to climb down a rocky path. I suggest wearing sneakers instead of sandals, as some of the cliffs can be quite slippery!

The most popular attraction on Nusa Penida is Kelingking Cliff, a T-Rex shaped rock sticking out of the ocean with perfect turquoise water splashing around. The beach at the bottom is also amazing and a great spot to swim and snorkel, but be aware that the sea here can get rough.

Another highlight of the island is the Goa Giri Putri Cave Temple, a Hindu temple inside of a huge limestone cave. You can crawl through the small entrance to discover a huge chamber with high rocks ceilings, where Hindu ceremonies are still held sometimes. For nature lovers Nusa Penida is also a sanctuary for several species of animals, such as bats, spiders and monitor lizards, and even some endangered birds like the Bali starling.nusapenida.one
