Number 5 today

I guess the big question is whether or not they will lower my dose.   The Nurse Practioner seems to think I have had more symptoms than is typical for FOLFOX recipients.  I had a low grade fever all weekend and awful upper abdominal pain, but it eventuallly got better. This followed several days of blistering mouth sores.   The fatigue is getting worse too, but I think I might have had some kind of flu or bug.    Just because I'm on chemo doesn't mean everything is caused by chemo, right?  Anyway, I have to trust that they know what they're doing at this point. Sometimes I feel so frustrated.  If they say take a vitamin, I take a vitamin.  If they say eat a banana, I eat a banana.  I have been rinsing my mouth with salt/baking soda several times a day since this started, and I try to walk as much as I can depending on weather, work and how I feel.  I have been told to avoid raw foods, so I do, and I consume protein as much as possible.   My attitude in life is generally positive.I work full time and I have managed to get out of bed, shower, and dress every day.  I think I am doing pretty well, all things considered, so I was a bit put out when they told me my symptoms were worse than normal. Like I'm failing a course or something. I thought things were going pretty well! Anyway, just needed to vent.  I feel better already:-)

Good morning my friend,
I wish you better day today than the days before and a even better tomorrow. I
think you sound good considering all. How many more chemos do you have to do? Just rememeber with each day it is one less to deal with. Somehow, that seemed to get me through that time of my life. It is commending you do get up and moving everyday, that is by far one of the worse things I had to deal with...,,
the feeling like someone just sucked the life out of you. YIKES!! You sound like an active person on a good day so cudos to you for still being active on these not so good days. How is the puppy? Spencer is finishing his last week of obedience training and may just graduate magna cum laude, not the class clown I thought the first night..ha ha! Keep in touch and big hugs to you for today. Not only is each day a gift it is also a challenge.

Going through Chemo is not a piece of cake. They put strong drugs into our bodies!!!! Everyone\'s bodies react differant. I think you are doing great!!! I could not work everyday. For 3-4 days after disconnect I do not do much at all. I started with a journal but gave it up. Everytime I have Chemo my body seems to react differant. I just take one day at a time and try to live as normal a life as I can on that day. Hang in their your doing great!!!

Cape, I know how you feel, chemo and I don\'t get along very well either. As I always say \"Im sick and tired of being sick and tired\". I just keep following the rules and doing whatever I can to help myself feel better (emotional, mental, physical & spiritual) and I have turned it all over to the Lord. For mouth sores my Dr gave me a prescription for \"Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.12% oral rinse\", she said not to use salt or baking soda ??? Anyway we just hafta hang in there through this journey, it will be over soon.
