Number 5 today
I guess the big question is whether or not they will lower my dose. The Nurse Practioner seems to think I have had more symptoms than is typical for FOLFOX recipients. I had a low grade fever all weekend and awful upper abdominal pain, but it eventuallly got better. This followed several days of blistering mouth sores. The fatigue is getting worse too, but I think I might have had some kind of flu or bug. Just because I'm on chemo doesn't mean everything is caused by chemo, right? Anyway, I have to trust that they know what they're doing at this point. Sometimes I feel so frustrated. If they say take a vitamin, I take a vitamin. If they say eat a banana, I eat a banana. I have been rinsing my mouth with salt/baking soda several times a day since this started, and I try to walk as much as I can depending on weather, work and how I feel. I have been told to avoid raw foods, so I do, and I consume protein as much as possible. My attitude in life is generally positive.I work full time and I have managed to get out of bed, shower, and dress every day. I think I am doing pretty well, all things considered, so I was a bit put out when they told me my symptoms were worse than normal. Like I'm failing a course or something. I thought things were going pretty well! Anyway, just needed to vent. I feel better already:-)
