Now I'm the Caretaker
So hubs has just went thru a total knee replacement and I am his care taker now that he his home. He had a replacement of the other knee 10 years ago and we were sent home the day before hurricane Katrina hit. 2 weeks with no power....it was rough. It is nice and cool in the house so in that aspect we are doing well. I am just exhausted.
I just keep thinking about those old shows when someone is sick friends make a line at your door and see if you need help with anything and they bring casseroles so you don't have to cook and they sit and have a cup of coffee and it breaks up the day....I guess that is just old school. Now everyone just watches for status updates on fb and either just 'likes' it or puts a comment about glad everything is going well. I guess I am being petty and it's not really like I even have friends...I had coworkers but now that I am not working I just don't have anyone to call a friend (guess they weren't really friends...right?) but the hubs does have friends and I guess maybe guys just don't think that way.
I could stay in the house happily and never go out if I could get stuff delivered like meds and groceries so if no one wants to come here...I guess I can live with that. I just feel pissy and it makes me want to cry because it shows me how lonely I am and how isolated I actually am. Right now, I am just vulnerable because I am in pain and feel like I need to jump up everytime he makes a move.
Fun times too....my daughter is having surgery on 15 Sep so I get to do this all over again. I guess if I can make it through this painful care taking stuff I should be pretty badass!
