Now I Can Laugh!

 
I was reflecting on my sister's criticism this afternoon about how I was dressed on Christmas Eve & then it hit me: here she is criticizing how I look when her house was absolutely filthy! (Note that for her, it was "clean" & I had commended her on that. Still, her "clean" is my "I refuse to ever live like that!")
 
When I thought about this, I had to laugh at the irony! If I were a faster thinker, I probably should have said, "Well, I didn't want to ruin my good clothes!" But that wouldn't solve the real problem. Anyway, it brought to mind the saying, "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones." And it made me smile at the silliness of the whole situation.
 
On another positive note, my son finally saved up enought gift cards & $ to buy an iPod Touch, which he bought this weekend. Because it is almost identical to the iPhone, he's been asking me set-up questions & we've been talking about apps & that sort of thing. It's very refreshing to have something neutral & positive to talk about with him! And it's kind of spilled over into our other interactions...for now!
 
2nd quarter interim reports were yesterday. My daughter's is glowing, of course. My son's is somewhat better. He is doing much better in Civics. It said he was in danger of failing Chemistry & English, but he did (or supposed to have done) his make-up work in Chem. And he says he didn't know why there was a problem with English. I told him to talk to the teacher, so here's to hoping...
