November 8, 2010 BIOPSY RESULTS ARE.....

Before I get into that - some of you have been trying to get through to me all weekend.  Grandma's memorial service was this weekend and it turned into a 3 day family reunion with fishfry on friday and my parents house on sunday for left overs.  Mom did a great job with all the cooking.  She was extremely busy.  My sister really took over the preparations at the sportsman's club and gave everyone jobs to do.  she was extremely bossy but only in the kitchen. She got particularly nasty when I was cutting up the cucumbers for the salad.  I was holding the knife wrong.  Funny - sunday Me, her and her husband Dan went to get wings around noon and she had to buy some band aides.  For what?  A cut on her thumb from a ...... knife!  LOL!!  talks the talk but doesn't lead by example.   She was even telling my father what to do (sorry, he was very authoritive growing up.  Had his little attitudes all weekend - I don't think he can handle my sister telling him what do do - he was always the boss!!).  Anyways, it was great seeing everyone.  13 out of 16 grandkids came.  Thats definitely a record.  It was really nice to have a little distraction.  Alex my 18 year old cousin and me took the wine and wafers up to the priest - oldest (I am almost 45 and alex is 18).
Anyways (you guys are all at the edge of your seats!) - The biopsy read that I do have a cyst on my left breast - tiny - like 4-5mm.  It is benign.  Is that terrific.  Before you take the champaigne and glasses out and toast.  I still have to return to Roswell Park and speak to my breast surgeon.  Dr Bonocchio still would like a few MORE mammo films taken (for what!  don't they have enough?).   She is hinting that Dr Kulkarni might want this cut out of me.  Which means, possibly another lumpectomy but this time I won't have to deal with radiation since its not cancerous.  It might not be a lumpectomy - not sure until I hear back.  Depends on what Dr Kulkarni says.  If she would want to take this out surgically - I will see the anesthesiologist again and continue there.  Its all gonna happen a lot faster.
I played phone tag with Dr Boneccio all weekend.  She tried to call me friday but I had left at 5:30 to the fish fry.  Came home at 4pm, she finally left a cell # on my phone so I left a message - stayed home all night.  Went out to Angola to my parents Sunday, grabbed her phone # called her at my parents.  Got home at 8pm - had to run to the store.  she called 10 minutes before I got home so Yay!  she had her phone on.  Called her and told me the situation.  wow!  Sunday at 8:30pm.  Whew!!  That took a bit of effort.
I will be back on thursday morning and tell you what Dr Kulkarni says.  Hopefully I won't be staying at Roswell all day.  If thats the case, then they will be setting me up for surgery on the left breast.  God I hope not.

I am so happy for you that it was benign and very small. I\'m sorry you may have to go back for another lumpectomy. At least no radiation this time. Keep in touch, friend.

I am glad that you were able to have a nice family reunion this weekend; although, I wish that different circumstances would have brought you together. My deepest and most sincere condolences on your grandmother.

Anyways, big, big hugs my friend.

I\'m glad you had fun at the fish fry and saw the family. Thank God your lump is not cancerous. Let us know what will be done with that. That has got to be scary even though it isn\'t a cancerous lump. I wish you luck with the doctor.
