Hi Everyone,
So far today is a very non productive week for me. I did manage to apply for 3 jobs yesterday. I haven't heard a word from them. Who knows whats going on with these companies. I am still contemplating about the life insurance agent job. I took the insurance basics chapter test but I keep failing. I need to get back on the stick, keep taking the chapter test until i pass it. I get a string of 66%. like I am 1 or 2 questions off from passing the chapter.
I got ahold of the agency and took their placement tests. I scored high with the data entry test (9800) and the typing test (65 WPM). I took the word and excel 2007 exam and didn't do very well. 63% on excel and 70% on the word. I then called her back and she sent the 2003 versions which I got an 85% on both word and excel. Of course, It took me much less time to do the 2003 than the 2007. I was getting really stressed out and frustrated because I found that in 2007, they buried a bunch of functions and I couldn't figure them out (it took me close to 45 minutes to answer 30 questions on 2007 and only 20 minutes to answer 30 questions on 2003 version). Even the most basic questions I was goofing up with - I couldn't figure out how to open a file on 2007. Jees!!! I definitely need to take some kind of class for it. I'll retest the 2007 at a later date. I know that the BETC has 2007 classes for free starting next month. She said she would be able to find something for me in the next week or so. I will keep you posted on that when I hear something. Its time to get back to work!!
Not too much other than that. Just keeping busy. Have a great week everyone. I will check in on friday.

Keep on keeping on Jen. I don\'t know what these companies want and so called \"employment experts\" contradict each other. If you call to follow-up on a position in which you applied, then that could be considered as pushy and impatient; whereas, it can simultaneously be viewed as a marker of being aggressive and having good follow-up skills. The more I learn on the job hunting front, the less that I know, and the more paralyzed it makes me to do anything. I say pick what\'s best for you and go for it. I just know that companies are being bombarded with applications and resumes, but you have to keep trying. Applying for three jobs in a day is quite an achievement, by the way, and you should be proud of yourself.
You may want to check the bargain software bins at places like Staples that for Professor Teaches Office 2007. I got the one for 2003 for $10 back in the day and although the tutorials can start off as a waste of time, it can also teach you the nuances of the program at a self-directed pace. Just a thought.
Anyways, I am here for you my friend. Big, supportive hugs.
