Nothing Special Today

Friday, June 5, 2009 - 10:55 AM   My entire right leg is still swollen because of the accident I had late Monday night. It is causing me to have a lot of pain, and the medication I am taking does not seem to be helping me too much. In order to try and cut down on the swelling, I have begun to wear some Ted Hose, which I have used on other occasions for this same purpose. I believe this is going to be a long process.   A home healthcare nurse stopped by, unexpectedly, to see me yesterday afternoon. She is one of my least favorite people, and had I known she was coming, I would have been somewhere else. While she was here, she took my blood pressure, and to my pleasant surprise, it was normal. I had been counting on it to drop without my having to use the blood pressure medicine. All I really had to do was cut down on some stress that I had been having.   I have spent a large part of the last two and a half weeks gathering financial information and filling out documents as part of my recertification for my section 8 housing. I finally finished with everything yesterday afternoon. All the paperwork needs to be in by June 9, so I am cutting this somewhat close. At least this time, I remembered to make copies of everything just in case something gets lost.   The coming week is going to be a busy one. I have appointments four out of five days. I am trying to figure out what I can do with that one free day other than to collapse and fall apart. It is probably best not to plan on doing anything since something usually turns up sooner or later.   Late Saturday night, my brother is due to return from his cruise to Greece. His wife was kind enough to e-mail me a couple of times, telling about where they have been, and whether they have been enjoying their vacation. I knew that she would be the one to write, because of the two of them, she is computer literate.
