Nothing New to Say
Just checking in, though there's really nothing new to say. Things are running pretty much the same.DH is still on & off clingy (currently on). Has applied for a couple jobs; says he's ready to update his resume but hasn't given me anything.Son is still not going to school, not looking for work, though he says "he will". Whatever.Daughter is doing well in school. We're starting to think about college. I'm starting to wonder how the heck I'm going to pay for it all.Mean sister hasn't been really mean lately. I'm thinking probably because I've very much maintained my distance & she's probably feeling it. Her latest tact is to be extra, extra nice. Sadly, I'm seeing this as a manipulation. Last night she weaseled me into saying "yes" to something that I'm going to have to go back & decline on.But back to the distance thing...just a reflection. This past year I've maintained my distance from both MS & my mom, mainly for self-protection. But a side benefit (and partially intended consequence) is that by letting them contact me instead of me reaching out to them, they are dealing with me when they desire to, and the interaction is much more positive. It's a good thing that the interactions are more positive these days, but at the same time, kind of sad that they haven't always been nice when I decided to reach out. In other words, not reciprocal. Don't get me wrong; I'm not mourning the lack of better relationship--that ship sailed long ago. It's just an observation & for my mental health, it's much better this way.
