Nothing New, More of the Same

Today I woke early, middle of the night actually, in extreme pain. I was in a car for a very short time yesterday and driving, even as a passenger seems to exacerbate my pain. I've been back to quilting and test sitting a new chair. I suspect it's too soft for my fusion and that is the cause of my pain. I wish I'd done one or the other, not both as I now don't know what is causing the pain level to rise.
I read a book by Dr. Gary Kaplan recently ( google his clinic in Virginia for more details on his amazing practice.) and am utilizing some of his methods. I have gone gluten free; will continue to do so for 30 days and then add foods back one at a time to see if I have problems. I am taking probiotics and am not taking my pain meds. I know this isn't for everyone. I am desperate to find a way to knock my pain out of the park forever; long term is my goal, even if it means more now. I am still taking my Gaba as that is a necessity.
I try other methods of pain relief, heat, ice, bathing or hot showers, aromatherapy, contemplation ( meditation). They all seem to help short term but not for the long term. I will be updating here in 27 days as to my progress. The diet says I will also lose weight but that is not my main goal here. I just want to feel better overall. Kaplan's book states that even an NSAID will mess with your gastro-intestinal tract, making it more permeable and less able to take in the very nutrients needed for brain/body functions, pain relief from natural endorphins and general healing, in my case from my surgeries which are still ongoing.
I hope it works as I really need to feel something may.

I agree with Kaplan. NSAIDS burn holes in you stomach. They cause heartburn, and can cause ulcers and bleeding., I don\'t take them regularly any more.
I wish I knew what the answer was Darlene. Are those pain relief patches any good?

I hope it works keep us updated.

I can\'t take NSAIDs, I have thin retinas and NSAIDs causes floaters.

I read no to long ago they think the aspirin therapy people us to stop blot clots is the cause of maculate degeneration. I think I misspelled, sorry,
That would be a cause for lost of eye sight that seems a lot of senior citizens develop.

I bought some OTC salonpa patches and they help at times.

Like you I use the natural ways also.

Hope your day is good.
