Nothing new
I read something on CL tonight and wanted to comment on it but to many people know me on there so I won't. A guy wrote in about why he is still single. I won't list the reasons cus most of them are things that 2 people could work out if they wanted to. But I wanted to write back to him to tell him us women has the same problems. Many men out there don't care any more and many don't want a loving relationship. Or they don't want to change their lives a little bit to have you share it with them. Or they just want sex. I don't want to grow old alone. Although I know the Lord is with me and I am not alone. But you all know what I mean. And I know He does too. I would love to know someone who cared about me, who wanted to do things together, to help me when needed or just to be there. I miss what my husband and I used to do together. Sure I could do them on my own and I have but it's not as much fun. I guess I just have to learn to be alone for the rest of my life. It's not what I want but I can't find a decent man at all. The men I have dated always has some kind of problem. Either it's smoking or drinking or don't care how they look, or don't have any money cus they don't work or they are hooked on porn or they are cheaters and liars. Where is the pride that men used to have? I guess it's gone for some reason.

All I can say is don't give up. I went almost 7 years when out of the blue I met just the right person for me. He also is a widower and we enjoy just having someone to do things with. I wasn't even looking when we got together it must have been meant to be. It can happen to you also.
I hear you Vinlin. Being alone is very hard. Being alone after loosing your beloved husband even harder.
I am glad though that you are not settling for a guy who has any of those issues you mentioned above.
May your faith help you through rough and lonely times. I hope that you meet a good guy that you deserve.
♥ and greenies.
Oh what about a local church? Or senior center?
things were always bad, even worse the further back in history you go, except it was extremely covered up back then.
church and singles at church is a good place to meet almost good people. also bowling leagues and places like lions club or moose etc. a lot of people meet people where they live if they are in a mobile home park, because the parks are sociable and its a big reason that people choose the parks over buying a condo, town home or small house all of which will cost them the same monthly. some people meet people at places that are republican or democrat and fundraisers for charity. the more you are out the more people you meet, the more likely you'll meet people. i also think things change later on and people become more like housemates than actual couples but if they have hobbies in common they stay together. hope you find what you are looking for. i think most people over 50 are basically single, with or without a piece of paper saying they are a couple.
