Nothing But Trouble

I know that the New Year has just begun, but so far, it does not seem much better than the last one. If this trend continues, I am going to be in a lot of trouble.

The physical and mental problems I was having last year only seem to be getting worse this one. I only need to have one or two things start going wrong before my mind begins spinning out of control. I need to find a way to put on the brakes.

Although it has almost been six months since I broke a bone in my right foot, I’m still having pain there, and my doctor says that the foot has not healed. Both of us are concerned about that. As a result, I’m scheduled to see an orthopedic surgeon this coming Friday. It was not the doctor I wanted to see, but I was not given much choice when I tried to make an appointment.

I’m going to see my Primary Care Physician tomorrow morning.  In addition to the broken bone in the right foot, I was roaming around my apartment with the lights turned out one night about three weeks ago, when I somehow misjudged the amount of room I had going through a doorway. As a result of this, I smashed my left foot into the wall, causing some kind of damage to that foot. It was very swollen, and painful, so my home healthcare nurse finally got around to seeing me a little more than two weeks ago.

No x-rays were taken this time. So far, I have been receiving moist heat treatments three times a day. They have cut down on the amount of swelling, and helped eliminate most of the black and blue marks.

As if all of this was not enough, I’m having additional pain throughout much of my body. Both my knees hurt almost every day, as does my neck and both of my shoulders. In contrast to that, the part of my left leg below my knee, going down to, and including the foot, seems to have lost some feeling and sensitivity. I am fairly worried about that.

While all this was occurring, I was having a lot of trouble getting my new Mac computer running properly. Most of the time, whenever I type in a website address, the computer would not go to that location. It would simply show a tab with some type of spinning object in it. I was given a message that the site was loading, but it rarely, if ever, loaded at all.

My niece’s husband came to look at it today, and he installed an antivirus program while he was here, but other than that, it does not seem to have gotten any better. If things do not clear up by the end of this week, I’m going to go back to the Apple Store where I bought the computer, and talk to them about the situation.

During the last couple of months, I have been extremely depressed. I hate to admit it, but I may need to go back on to my antidepressants, which my primary care physician did not want me to stop taking in the first place.

Last week I told my psychologist that I had a case of the blahs,   and that I did not care whether I lived or died. After saying this, I noticed that she had a peculiar look on her face, so I quickly added that I was not implying that I was going to kill myself. I should’ve told her that I just felt like sleeping most of the time, and that I was tired a lot of the day and night, which is pretty much unlike me. I will see her in again this Tuesday, at which time I will try to clarify things.
