Not so 'young' anymore I guess:(
My ferritin level is down in the 200's now and since I haven't had a phleb (due to Dr change and waiting on my appt) in a few weeks-I have not experienced the SUPER fatigue I had been experiencing. But my main gripe is the darn joint pain-espec in my wrists, thumb and pointing finger and in my toes.
I am def feeling my age...I used to think I was so invencible. I am experiencing a numbness in my left arm and thru my pinky finger and the finger next to it. It only happens occassionally, but enough to kinda freak me out. My vertigo/nausea/dizziness/headaches continue on a frequent state. Almost anything makes me dizzy and nauseous (I've seen an ear/balance Dr and did the first set of tests and will go thru the four hour testing in Nov). I only seem to be out of breath mostly after my phelbs, but the pain in my chest comes with deep breathing. I have been on medications for my scalp for about two yrs now. It had become super sensitive and inflammed-beat red and irritated. I have switched to only purely natural/organic conditioners w/o fragrance and use a medicated shampoo. There is a huge 'rash' on both my arms my derm calls "Keratosis Pilaris" that will calm down some at times, but mostly stays inflammed as well. I have been told tht when your body is sick inside, it shows on the outside with your skin. I have bouts of itching fits as well. This can be very irritating!
I'm almost down to the bare minimum on things I can tolerate eating. I have never been able to tolerate dairy-and a handful of yrs ago I started taking digestive aids that worked miracles (Essential Enzymes by Source Naturals) and still work to an extent,w/o them I don't think I could tolerate things AT ALL. I also starting drinking Lactaid Milk that settled with me for years but now I can't even drink that. I tried Almond milk and Silk-but that was a no go as well. Currently I am drinking Rice Dream that is OKAY...Not really a 'dream' but tolerable. I have a family member who has Rheumatoid Arthritis and she says she cannot eat eggs (and a whole list of other things I can't remember, meats as well tho) because she 'pays for it in her joints the next day.' This makes me wonder...So now with me trying not to take in a lot of iron and all the things that upset my tummy....It leaves me a little aggravated when making the grocery list. My family isn't too jazzed on the limits as well. They kind of get sick of hearing me talk about it all i'm sure.
I have maintained a low grade fever the last five Dr visits and have had occassional night sweats-I no longer sleep with covers as they irritate me as well. I just get too hot too fast. I have been checked for menopause and that has been a negative so far...I had a partial hysterectomy in 1999.
And Lord have mercy-do I bruise easily! WOW. I'll hit something and it puffs up and turns colors right then. I also have been diagnosed with a pituitary tumor.
Lots of gripes,yes...but I'm fighting it all like crazy! I'm pushing on & pushing forward with determination! I may complain about it, but i'm not giving up...and I have a wonderful man to support me thru it all:)
...and I am writing all this down here so that like me, others might find it either interesting or to help them know others are feeling the same.
