Not so gentle reminder

I was feeling pretty good today. The cooler weather has really seemed to help. I ran a few errands without difficulty and had high hopes for the day. My wife had a paper she had to work on for her graduate class so I decided to cook dinner. My skills in this area are somewhat limited so I decided to make something simple. I decided tacos were to be the featured item on our evening menu. While browning the ground beef, the heat and steam became too much for me. I had a pretty bad flareup and had to take a couple of breathing treatments to get things back under control. My son finished preparing dinner. (guilt is a pretty good motivator) After dinner my daughter called and said she was very sick with the cold or flu. She has just started work at a new company and has no insurance(or money) yet so we arranged to have her treated at a local urgent care center. I met her at the center and gave the lady at the desk a check to cover her care. On the way out the door I began to cough again. (I always remain sensitive after an exacerbation). The lady at the desk wanted to treat me but I declined. I know my flares and when they are serious. This one was just sort of an after shock. I knew I could treat this at home with my nebulizer. I did use my nebulizer at the house and now I'm OK. I also saved myself $100 copay for an ER visit. Hey, every bit helps. On the plus side, I now have an excuse to stay out of the kitchen. Be well,TomĀ
