Not sure

Yesterday my husband and I went to his high school buddy's house to have Easter dinner with his family.  Funny thing is they grew up together in another state but for the past 20 years - they lived about 20 minutes away from each other but only got together a few times since then - until recently.
I was actually the one who got these guys back together again.  I am on the board of an organization that raises funds for families of adolescents who need help with the cost of their drug treatment (that insurance doesn't cover) and since my husband's friend is a local "celebrity" I thought he might be able to bring some media coverage to this cause (he's a popular news anchor).  I realize that I haven't asked him about that part ~ if we can get it on the news. One step at a time, I guess.  Anyway - it was great getting together with them.  Unfortunately, our sons didn't go with us.  Our middle one had a paper to write and our youngest (apparently) was mad at me because when he asked my husband if he'd buy him cigarettes ~ I jumped in a said that he'd have to do a job to earn them.  T-Man shot back and said he has money and would only need a ride.  Well, it ended up he got mad (very quickly) and said he'd walk up instead.  Husband gives me a dirty look and takes him to get cigarettes.  It all happened so fast.  I didn't expect to get an overreaction from my son (why - I don't know) and then when he's upset - my husband rescues him.  And although my husband didn't come out and say that it was my fault T-Man wasn't going with us ~ he implied it.  Whatever.  I don't think T had any intention of coming with us because he wanted my husband to drive him to get cigarettes, so he was being charming up to that point.  I was just the excuse for T changing his mind - I know how he works.  Other son?  Didn't end up working on his paper. Couldn't concentrate and today he's in bed - not wanting to go to school.  Sigh.  He seemed to be doing better but I think the holiday was hard for him.  I think he contacted his ex-girlfriend.  He went outside to talk on his cell.  And the last few nights I know his drinking increased.  So I pray.
Update on court payment -  Husband took T-Man to the bank to take his own money out of his savings, took him to make payment at court, and then to a few places to pick up some applications for a job.  T-Man?  Well - no record or jail like he told me what would happen if he didn't pay by the next day.  Although payment the was made late - it was paid and his record is clean.  Smelling like a rose again.  I'm relieved but I'm making an appointment with a drug counselor because these issues will come up again and I can't deal with it.  * Hubby told me that he and T had a nice conversation after the fee was paid.  T said he knew that "You were just trying to teach me a lesson".  He got it?  There are many lessons he will need to learn - never too late.  :-)
