not sure

Not sure what to do but I know things will work out.  J is still in a bad way.  I guess he's agreeing to go back to the doctor.  The main problem he's been having is that there is a lot of thick mucus in the back of his throat that he just can't get rid of.  And then there's the horrible pain that goes with it when the pain meds wear off.  He only talks when he's on the Vicodin (which seems to be working the best after a few dosages later on in the day).  And when he talks he sounds like he's deaf.  It's worrisome.  And then add fuel  to the fire ~ he's itching from the Vicodin.  I read that that is a serious side effect.  He keeps telling me that "it's normal" because when he abused this drug, he used to itch a lot.  I told him that he wasn't taking as many as he is now and he said he has. Great.  
I am thinking of this as an Divine Intervention to help him see that smoking is partly ~ if not at all ~ responsible for this illness.  Maybe, just maybe this will be a wake up call?  One can only hope.
