Not out of the woods yet- but good news inside
I talked to Disability today, and they said I should be hearing soon. Even if I am approved, if I get SSDI I won't get my first check until the second week of June. I may qualify for SSI for the time that I haven't been able to work, but even that could take 1-2 months to process and get money.
They said I had been approved at the state level (yay!) but SSA still needed to make sure I qualify for SSDI. It's good news that the state approved me- it means I medically qualify. Now they are just seeing if I financially qualify (which shouldn't be a problem- the most expensive thing I own is my computer, a $300 E-machine). I don't own a car or anything else.
The thing is, I have to figure out how I'm going to survive until at least the second Wednesday of June. And I'm not going to get backpay ( :( ) which I was counting on to fix the car, get a new computer (Geo and I currently share one which is a major pain in the butt for 2 disabled people who love being online) and other things. But those are just luxuries- right now I have to figure out how to do things like pay my phone bill (overdue, balance $182) and other essentials. Hopefully I hear from Food Stamps soon so I can get some food. I also have to see about Section 8 housing, because it's really hard to pay $820 rent with the little we get from SSI. *sigh* All these things to do, but not enough awake time in the day to do it lol.
Food/sleep update: Today I had 1/2 bottle of green tea, 2 cups of coffee, normal dinner, and will eat some pasta later. Slept from 4am to 12:30pm.
