....not just anybody....

Aw, to hell with it!  I'll take ANYBODY!
I turn the GPS on in my car for the long ride home from work every day just to have company. There are some days, like today, when my GPS talks to me more than any of the humans around me. I set the voice to a nice British woman because I love the accent and I get a kick out of hearing her tell me to get on the "motorway" rather than the highway! It's nice to have "someone" around who isn't asking for something. Her name is Jane. She watches out for me, telling me when a turn is coming up so that I don't miss it when I'm deep in thought. She warns me when I'm going over the posted speed limit because I'm going with the flow of traffic and not paying attention. If I make a mistake she doesn't get angry or tell me how stupid I am. She adjusts and helps me find my way again. She's always there when I need her. She really "has my back" . At least SOMEbody does...

I used to pretend cigarettes were my friends...always there...or at least just down the street....

We\'re both wrong....

Not easy to find genuine people who have your back. I have myself to depend on. I have let myself down making some poor choices but always rebound. Don\'t know there will ever be person who considers my needs all the time or even understands. It\'s all part of relating. Thanks for sharing. I don\'t have GPS use my own internal antennae to figure out direction. Sometimes get messages along way to help push me in right direction. Just have to be listening.

My internal antenna is totally non-functional. Even in my own neighborhood, given a choice I will unerringly choose the wrong direction! The GPS is a new addition. My children finally got tired of me getting lost all the time and taking me twice as long to arrive at my destinations!
