Not jumping ahead of things.
Well this week I have been riding my bike a lot. I need to to get reved up for the upcoming race season. It's going to be a hard season, it is never easy. There are a lot of mental issues and problems that can stop an athlete in their tracks. It's kinda wierd actualy, I know that getting outside and riding will make me feel better but often it's to hard to get out the door. The hardest part of any workout is getting from the couch or bed to the garage where my bike is. I hope I can stay focused on what's important to me and keep things going well. I get caught up in a lot of stuff and lose sight of why I race bikes in the first place. Last year I almost quit but then like from the heavens a friend came along who's love and excitment for the sport is nothing short of contagious. He has no idea but he is the reason my bikes are in my garage, basement and shed and not up on ebay. If there is any advice I can give to anyone who is on the brink of quitting something, try and remember what the reason was that you started the activity in the first place. It doesn't matter what it is, whether it's a pyhiscal activity or any other thing you use to do and love. Try and remember why it was and think to yourself, am I still doing it for the same reasons? When I almost quit racing I stopped and thought why did I start this, because it's the most fun you can have on two wheels and it makes me feel great. I have seen the most beautiful sceneries on my bike and I don't want that to ever stop. That helps to put things back into perspective. On a side note, things are going ok with this girl. Things are starting to slow down but I need to not confuse that with cooling off. When you're young and you first meet someone you are just so in love haha, but then that ends and it becomes hard at times. I need to work through this and not let it comsume my thoughts therer are so many other things that need my attention right now.
