Not Again!

Monday, July 14, 2008 – 6:30 P.M.  I would rather forget today. It almost seems as though last week is repeating itself. My physical therapist called this morning and told me not to go there this afternoon because there would not be enough people to help me. I told her that last Thursday. Why is she is just now getting around to figuring it out? Sheesh!   My next scheduled appointment with her is for Thursday, July 24 at 3:40 P.M. That time is too late in the day for her to see me as well, which is exactly what I told her today. She said she was just going to have to rearrange some schedules. Sorry, but I cannot see that as actually happening.   She asked what my doctor had to say when I saw him Friday. I told her that he said I did not have spondylosis, and that he wanted me to continue getting therapy twice a week for two months, and additionally wants me to have a pool therapy evaluation for range of motion.   I am really pissed off at the lack of therapy I will be having this week and next. It seems to me that since they know I need extra help, some consideration should be given to this when scheduling my appointments. I feel that ignoring this is irresponsible, not to mention being unfair to me.   Quotes for Success: “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”   Herman Cain

The life of a CFSer is the same - the sick are expected to accommodate the well. But in your case, it\'s even more egregious.

It is rather amazing how some parts of the medical profession are...well sometimes quite inadequate.
It is infuriating when you have the answers, and offer them.
Yet somehow, it takes weeks or months for the awareness to seep into those that care for you.

I think so too, Jim. Irresponsible is right.

Can you find a different therapist? Alarm bells are going off for me with this one. They started to go off when you felt weird about her rescheduling because she needed more help there. You doubted yourself but I think you sensed something. Your intuition was right.

I can\'t imagine a phsyio not providing adequate treatment when she must know how well you respond to it. Shouldn\'t that be the goal of a therapist? to help you feel and get better?
