Not a Great Weekend, but OK

Took the dog on a much-needed hike yesterday (with the kids).  May not have been the best idea.  Well, it was a good idea with not a great outcome.  He somehow slipped out of his "gentle leader" & got in a dog fight (both are OK, though, I believe).  But once we got home, he was so sore & exhausted.  He really likes hiking, but his body just can't take it like it used to!  He has a bad leg to begin with, but it usually does OK on hikes.  Old dog...
I feel bad about the whole dog fight thing, but as my son said, it wasn't my fault & it was an accident.  It really upset my daughter.  My son tried words of comfort with her, but she didn't want to hear it.  I have to give my son an A for effort though.
