Nose back to the grindstone.

I've been back from vacation for about 4 days and I have finally motivated myself to check back in. I guess I'm still in the vacation frame of mind. Now back to the hard work of retirement. Life's tough. Florida was very nice. The only time I had much trouble was on highway 95 as I was traveling north from New Smyrna. There was some brush fires and the smoke crossed the highway in that area and caused me a little difficulty.  I thought that this might cut our vacation short but that was the only time smoke was anywhere near me.   We stayed in Ormond Beach which is just north of Daytona Beach. Our condo was right on the beach and it was great to just open the doors of our unit and take in the sea air. I know that this is no big deal for those of you who live on the coast, but for river rats like me it was a nice change. Because of my various ailments, I was judicious in exposing myself to the direct sun light. Usually I would head back in after about 20 minutes. My poor wife Julie ,however, doesn't have the built in advantage that asthma gives you... The inability to tolerate too much heat. On the second day there, she went out to the beach with a book and she also walked in the surf some. She stayed out a couple of hours. She did use sun sceen but the sun has a way of finding any opening. She must have inadequately sprayed her feet or maybe the surf washed it off because her feet were painfully sunburned. This set back her beach bunny aspirations for a couple of days but she was able to return to the beach by th latter part of the week. This time she was more diligent in putting on the sunscreen and she limited her time out doors.  I am doing OK myself. I go in for my SSD hearing on Thursday. I hope everyone has been doing well,Tom
