North American Bancard (NAB) is a payment technology company that offers credit, debit, EBT, check and guarantee conversion, e-commerce, gift and loyalty solutions, and more. Founded in 1992 by CEO / President Mark Gardner, headquartered in Troy, Michigan. Its headquarters employs over 1,200 people, as well as 3,000 American business partners.

History

Since its founding in 1992, Bancard in North America has become the 6th largest non-bank merchant in North America. In 2008, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation recommended that the Michigan Economic Growth Administration approve a $21.5 million tax credit for NAB.

The company moved its head office in the fall of 2009 to a 105,000 square foot building in Stevenson Hugh. In 2010, NAB reached 100,000 merchants, opened PayAnywhere in 2011, and acquired in 2014 Inovio Payments, Fast Investment Financing and Electronic Payments Exchange. In 2016, NAB reached 1,000 employees for the first time. Then, in 2017, NAB further expanded its portfolio by acquiring Total Merchant Services.

Awards and Nominations

Founder / CEO / President Mark Gardner won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2008. Detroit Regional Chamber elected Gardner as a guest speaker at the 2009 Makinak political conference to discuss the future Michigan economy and Gardner's achievements as an entrepreneur. The American Heart Association of North America, called Bancard, is a Gold Status company eligible for 2010 for its comprehensive and healthy initiatives for its employees.

The North American Bancard Agent Program and its PayAnywhere brand were recognized in June 2011 by the Detroit International Business Communicators Association for their award in the Electronic and Digital Communication - Website Design category. Current

Today, NAB Troy employs more than 1,200 people in a head office of over 100,000 square feet. In June 2010, the North American company Bancard announced that it had acquired Point and Pay from Vesta Corp in order to extend payment processing to the public sector and non-profit organizations.

In 2011, the North American company Bancard announced the launch of PayAnywhere, a payment solution for payment processing. PayAnywhere is a mobile application and card reader designed to allow users to accept credit card payments on their smartphones. The product does not offer installation fees, application fees, monthly service fees, cancellation fees, and minimum monthly fees.

After NAB purchased the electronic payment exchange from the payment processor in 2014, it became a true final solution for accepting payments. In June 2015, the North American company Bancard announced that it had introduced a new version of the PayAnywhere mobile credit card reader, designed to read 3-inch credit cards, launched in Apple stores. This version is compatible with iOS devices.
