No urges... just thoughts

Continue to be gamble free.  Cant gamble -- I have Alex.  Dont want to gamble.  Do not have the urge to gamble.  But........ I cant quit thinking about gambling.  It is just consuming my mind.  Thinking about the last time I gambled, the first time I gambled, all the times I gambled in between, why I gambled, why I didnt stop myself from gambling, how much money I spent gambling, how much debt I have because of gambling, how I'm going to get myself out of debt from gambling, what i'm going to do when the urge to gamble hits, how i am going to stop the addictive voice in its tracks... Yada yada yada.  I just want my mind to calm down, quit thinking so much. My good friend (also a CG, but not admitting to that) invited me to go to the casino this coming friday night.  She is having some sort of "outing" for work.  The casino she is going to is 5 minutes from work---It will be friday night, I a new paycheck in my bank account and I will be without child.  BUT I WILL NOT GAMBLE--AND I WONT CHANGE MY MIND!  I told her that I wasnt going and that I would call her saturday so we could get together.  I know people say not to associate with compulsive gamblers, but she is my good friend and she needs help too.  She told me a couple of weeks ago that August 1st was going to be the last time she gamble, I hope that is the truth.  I hope that I can help her, we will talk when I see her Saturday. I will not gamble today--- but i will go see ~Wicked~

WTG on staying strong on that invitation with your good friend!!!

The thoughts will eventually become less and less....just hang in there GF and they will get weaker and weaker, fewer and farther between. Sometimes it seems like it takes forever for that to happen.....but it will happen!

I was still obsessed with gambling in the early days....just realize that the thoughts will pass if you just wait them out.....

Hugs, Dianne
