No Politics Allowed!

Last night, I was talking to my H about the most recent presidential debate, since he did not watch it (he had gone to bed early). I told him how combative the candidates were & how it's so hard to tell what the truth is because of it. Well, that set him off (not unlike the argument he had at our friends' house a few months ago)--how everyone should already have their minds made up on how they're going to vote (I disagree, but not aloud) & how you can't believe what they're saying, you have to believe their actions, etc. (true, but you don't always have access to the information that tells the actions). But the big thing was his tone--it was as combative as the candidates!
So: another off-limits topic, apparently. I guess I can't express my opinion if it doesn't agree with Rush Limbaugh's & isn't of an angry tone!
See, that's the thing I don't like: not being able to express my thoughts without fear of reprisal. I don't mind being disagreed with; I do mind being invalidated. Especially by my own husband. The stupid thing is that he craves intimacy, but you can't have intimacy if you invalidate the person you want to be intimate with!
But it is what it is, and I have do deal with it as it is. :-P
