No Mud, No Lotus

I ate a bunch of strawberries (they looked so amazing at the farmers' market), and now I'm riding out a severe rosacea flare. Needless to say (but I'll go ahead and say it anyway), the suffering has been great for the past 2 days, with last night being particularly intense. I have learned from this recent bad bout that I don't know how to suffer well.

So, as a source of personal comfort, I'm going to make "no mud, no lotus" my mantra for a while. And, I guess I'll also get to see and experience first hand if suffering really does lead to deeper understanding and greater compassion.

Blessings to all!

Thank you, Lilly! The pain was pretty severe. I'd give it a 7 out of 10, with times where it would throb or burn and spike to an 8 or 9. It was much better by end of day yesterday... and this morning I seem to be a bit further along in healing from the flare. This is the second time strawberries have hurt me... they are on the "no" list for sure now...
