No more PIO shots! HOORAY!
I called the doctor's office today for two reasons. #1, I am due for my 8 week highlights so I wanted to get the all clear, and #2, I am out of space on my butt for another PIO shot and could I do anything, like maybe even every other day now. The lumps are so painful and large; I equated it to DH as having a baseball taped to each side of my butt and that's what it feels like in the middle of the night when I try to roll over onto them (or walk, or shower, or anything else).
The receptionist said NO WAY on the highlights, so I asked if that's just a first trimester precaution, and she assured me they are very against it at any time during pregnancy. Really? Wow, I will definitely be looking very white trash soon as my hair has darkened a lot as I've gotten older, but no one knows that as I do a good job with my high- and lowlights. I never considered myself vain before but no one has ever cut me off of my hair ritual either! I am reminding myself it's JUST hair...
She said they would have to call me back on the PIO shots. A nurse called back several hours later after talking to the doctor and she said, "you can quit the shots now." I screamed, "FOREVER?!" like a sixth grader, but I was so excited with what I had just heard. She said at least for now, yes, I could stop them but I may have to do them in the future. That's ok, this is time to heal! She did assure me the lumps will take several weeks to completely go away. I'm still doing Crinone daily and Estrace so I'm still loading up on hormones in other ways.
So I've decided that I am totally fine with trashy roots for the next 30+ weeks considering for now I am done with PIO shots! Besides, I found a great recipe for lemon juice and chamomile tea natural lightener, and I figure I can buy some foil and teach DH how to do it for me. I might look crazy in the end but at least I'll feel better AND I'm pregnant. :)
God is great!

Yay for no more PIO shots! The only other solution would be to grow a bigger ass (which hopefully, pregnancy will make happen soon enough!)
very happy for you, might I suggest embrasing your darker hair for the pregnancy. I \'think\" wash-in\'s are ok while your prego, check with your DR. but you can wash color in for 2-4 weeks at a time and they cover gray. I think I may be going the darker route myself since I know I can\'t highlight either :) just a thought. and congrats on not having to do those shots anymore... YEAY!
Hooray for you!!!!!!!! Keep writing..love it!
That\'s awesome! I wish my doctor would call your doctor, because I have to do the PIOs for 4 more weeks!
