No More free TV rant
I'd read not too long ago that people could dump their cable and still get to watch TV. First it was Hulu and then you could go to the network's site and find whatever you wanted to watch there. Well the service providers are fighting back by working with networks, like ABC and making you sign on with your provider BEFORE you can view any show. Before I just click on the app and watched whatever show I want. This past Mon Jan 6th ABC required you sign in with a provider. I'm also finding that in places where I can get free wi fi, like McDonalds, I'll get a window coming up telling me I can sign in with my provider and give me a list of providers to choose from. luckily I can cancel this and still sign in with McDonalds or other places that provide free wi fi. But I wonder how long will FREE wi fi exist. And will ALL networks also demand I have a service provider?Right now I am living with friends who DO have Cox, but I don't have my own acct. If I want to sign in I have to ask them to sign me in with their acct. If I didn't have any access to cable I'd be up shits creek if I want to watch a program on ABC, other networks are following suit. There was a time when people could dump their cable/satellite or Vios and still watch TV. Well apparently you're not going to be able to anymore. So much for freedom to watch. I miss analog :(

hi Lily, i agree, lots of things changing, with the channels, even now, on youtube, many of the tv shows on there, are being put on there, for pay per view, like episodes from some of the major tv networks. i remember when youtube was all free, movies, tv shows, and now there\'s many charges. i think the networks are realizing, lots of people were discontinuing subscriptions to the cable, so they are now striking deals on copyright laws, with sites like hulu, and youtube, to charge people on there, to watch the shows.
I found this on the internet for you and here is what it says: both Hulu and ABC.com will continue to make episodes available to everyone, including people who dont pay for cable, eight days after the initial air date.
