No longer sober
I'm no longer sober as of today. Monday I broke my sobriety and last night though I didn't have contact with pornography I may as well have. I am still engaging in the addictive behavior to cope with my life. One thing that makes it tough is I have a lot of pre-conceptions regarding life that aren't necessarily based in reality. Real for me, but not necessarily reality as everyone else is in. Fantasies corrupt reality, big time. I worked with Dave and Mike yesterday. Dave mentions that in the addiction we cannot see reality and we are stubborn to do so for doing so would mean giving up our drug of choice. Makes sense! Gotta run

I can totally see Dave\'s point, very true!

I can too now that I am adjusting my attitudte. It confirms the saying in AA cunning baffling and powerful!
What..was is it..step 2..That I am powerless over Alcohol and my life has become unmanageable. That and the 1st one are all I remember(My mother has been sober for 20yrs) from growing up.
That\'s awesome. Congrats to your Mom. Step 1 is We came to believe we were powerless over (insert addiction) that are lives had become unmanageable. Step 2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
Yea, that\'s it! Had it backwards! I\'m still trying to figure out if I have an addiction to anything..the fact that I am thinking I might..I probably do :o/
I don\'t know. A Good way to find out is to take an addiction quiz off the internet and answer it as honestly as possible. Mine took me a year of breaking through denial before I would even admit it was an addiction. It\'s hard work this recovery stuff
Yea, honestly. Just like the saying goes. I don\'t really wanna stop any of the few things I think I \"might\" be addicted to. Not ready to go without them right now.
It\'s tough. It forces you to find different things to fulfill your life with. You know how much I struggle probably just reading my journal. I can understand not wanting to give it up, believe me!!! :) That\'s the one thing we all have in common. If you ever do decide there are support groups out there:) It\'s not all negative:)
