No follicle growth is stressing me out
I just posted what I'm about to type on the general IF board so forgive me if you are reading this twice. Still trying to figure out my way around DS and what I post where!
So I saw my RE today for the typical pre-IUI sono and bloodwork (this will be IUI #3). I didn't have to take any drugs or stims before my first 2. My cycles were both normal and the follicles grew normally. Overall, the RE has been really happy with my numbers each month. Today is day 10 and there is no follicles at all, which is unusual for me. I had a long period and it just ended, so I'm wondering if maybe that's why? I have to go back to RE on Friday for another sono and bloodwork and they said I might need clomid this month. I am feeling concerned that RE said my follicle growth should be better by now and its not. I'm a little freaked out since up to this point, everything went so smoothly. I'm probably worried for nothing but when I heard today that I had no follicles, it freaked me out and made me think, "oh no, what if my shitty eggs are all dried up and game over?!" Ugh, why does this have to be so difficult? This IF roller coaster sucks.

Sorry this is happening. Hoping things improve.
So sorry....hopefully a few days will make the difference. There is no good explanation when it comes to IF......I have always taken stims for IUI and IVF and produced between 7-13 follicles with no issues. The last cycle I did in October (on the same meds) only produced TWO and I had the same thoughts (worries, fears) that you just mentioned about my own eggs! That\'s what we get for being in our 40s!!! Just another \"bonus\" for this crappy game! Hoping all turns out great on Friday! Keep us posted! Sending love and positive vibes your way! xoxo
So sorry about your news. I know you aren\'t hopeful about the hole IUI thing and this will be your last before IVF but it would be great if you had a good result. You never know, I\'ve seen a lot of girls here with cycles that were slow to start and ended with good results. Your RE seems on top of things, plus maybe doing something different this IUI will help you get your BFP.

I commented on the regular board, so i\'ll keep this short and sweet! I had to do two rounds of stims to get good to go for my last IUI. On my day 11 u/s after 5 days of stims I was told my insides looked like they were on day 3, and to do another round and come back. I had 4 extremely large follies that cycle. Damn mine for not sticking! but it is still possible and good luck!!
Thanks, ladies! I saw my RE again today and I have some follicle growth! I go back next week and if there isn\'t sufficient growth, they will put me on femara.

Glad to read that you got some better news.....hoping for that miracle with this IUI....but if not just start to think that you are one step closer to something more aggressive that will make you a mommy! Wishing you all the best! xoxo
