No Fast Food, day 2
Today I managed another day of avoiding fast food. It wasn't too hard, since it was a workday. I wasn't feeling too good this morning, but went in anyway. I was supposed to start at 11 am today, but tried to make it in at 10. Well, I wasn't feeling good, on the toilet a lot, but by 11 I was feeling better and was only like 15 minutes late. I took 2 hours getting ready because of all the bathroom trips. It normally takes me about 15-20 minutes.
Work was stressful! I went in and there were 3 other volunteers there. I'm the only one who knows how to use the computers, so my boss Daisy asked me to do some stuff for her that required concentration. One of the other volunteers came up to me and just randomly started complaining about everything. I just ignored her and she eventually went away. I did have to re-count some pages, though, because she distracted me. Then I switch computers and Daisy said that we needed to get the phones as well. I ask one of the women there to get the phone and she says okay. The phone rings, she gets it. Then another call came in and she just stared at the phone. I had to answer it. I was also helping people coming up to the desk. It's just a pain in the butt having to do the work of 3 people and nobody else doing anything. I'm going to talk to Daisy about it if it keeps up. It's just not fair. One of the women (the one who was complaining to me) just gets on everyone's nerves. She can't do anything right. She speaks bad English and can't translate very well. She gets involved in a conversation with the person and doesn't tell you what's going on. I'm in the middle of talking to someone, and she comes up, interrupts me and starts the questions at the beginning again (things I already asked and got the answer to). She disappears without telling anyone for like a half hour, and then when she's at the desk, all she does is look for someone to complain to. I'm in pain, too, you know. I don't complain about it endlessly to my coworkers. I keep it between Daisy and I, since she needs to know what I can and can't do on a day. Sorry for all the venting, it's just been one of those days.
