no crash
Christmas was rough, but I didn't crash. I didn't crash!
I'd been sick, on and off, since Nov. 9. I'd have a decent day, and then 2 bad days. On Dec. 22, I had chills and a fever of 104. I took some meds and my fever came down, but I had one of those it hurt to breathe headaches. I just laid with a pillow over my head and whimpered. My hubby took me to the hospital and we found out that I'd been battling at least 2 viruses and I was badly dehydrated. My bp was 106/69 and my heart rate was 63. Because of the bp and heart rate, the doc had to take x-rays -- he thought something was wrong with my heart. Why don't they ever believe us??? We got home at about 3:00 am. It took my husband 2 days to recover;}.
When they put the IV in me at the hospital, I could see all the weight that I've lost getting pumped back into me! The good news is I've lost 3 more pounds. Over the holidays, as far as sweets go, I ate 3 pieces of fudge and one very small (1" x 2") piece of cake. I didn't make broccoli salad for Christmas Eve, but they got over it.
I really feel good today! I HAVE ENERGY, after a bad round with viruses and Christmas with church and family. I slept until 9:00 this morning, but I stayed up until 4:30 this morning reading a book! I've had 1 cup of coffee and no sugar today (addicted to both!), and I feel so alive right now! Makes me afraid. I know My CFS isn't nearly as severe as many of the members on DS, but, does this happen to anyone else?
My PCP is allowing me to increase my doses of Neurontin on my own --- just not too fast and I have to notify him when I do. I quit taking blood pressure medication, of my own volition, (for stroke prevention) a few months ago. I've cut way back on my sugar intake. I've lost about 11 pounds. Could that combination be making me feel this much better? What will I feel like tomorrow???

Pilotrock, I\'m glad to see you didn\'t crash over Christmas!!! Yay for you! I\'m glad you were able to get help at the hospital and get some of your strength back. You did make me laugh though - seeing your weight loss reversing with the IV! And your poor hubby needing time to recover - it is hard on them sometimes, that\'s for sure. I misread your comment about the fudge - I though you wrote that you ate 3 POUNDS of fudge. I reread it and saw it was 3 PIECES of fudge. Phew! I have gone through periods where I have spurts of energy - more so in the past, but I always make good use of them if I can - usually doing something fun!
YAYYYYYYYYYY! You didn\'t crash! Isn\'t that wonderful! CFS is such a weird disease. We never know what to expect, so we just pray about everything and roll with the punches! We\'re a tough group of people, I tell ya!
Sorry you had to visit the hospital. I hate that...but it happens. It was the right thing to do. Always better safe than sorry.
I wish you a Happy New Year. Praying that 2014 will see us all with some restored health. What a wonderful thing that would be. I love to see it when someone writes that they feel \"great\"!! It IS possible. I hope it lasts for you!!
