No cake...

Saturday was Rob's birthday, and he wanted to see Jonathan.  My aunt called me around 11:30am said she had 4 tickets to Cedar Point that were only good for that day.  It being his birthday and since he has been talking about going there, I called him and woke him up to tell him about the tickets.  My aunt said if we can't use them then we could sell them.  So, we picked up the tickets from her and headed out to Sandusky.  We were in the parking lot of Cedar point for just about 5 minutes and asked a group of people walking from their car if they wanted to buy them for $25 each, since regular admission is $42.95 plus tax.  They handed me $100 and we decided to take the Jet Express over to Kelley's Island for the day.  Jonathan was so excited about riding on a boat, and he loved how fast the boat went- when they say Jet EXPRESS, they ain't kiddin'!  When we got to the island, we rented a golf cart (most people on the island drive them instead of cars because it's such a small island) and drove around the island.  We got ice cream and dinner, and took the golf cart down some trails through the woods.  We had alot of fun, and Jonathan had a great time with his dad.  On the ride back, I lost my balance on the boat because the water was a little choppy.  I hurt my knee on Friday and this just made it worse.  We didn't get back into Cleveland until about 1:30am.  Since it was my right knee that was injured, I couldn't drive home.  I spent the night on the couch at my old house, and figured I'd go back in the morning.  By 9am, my dad was calling to make sure I was OK.  Sunday went well- no yelling or fighting, and Jonathan laughed and played without having a single tantrum.  Rob went to the grocery store and lit up the grill to cook up some steaks for dinner.  He did yard work and helped me move around the house when ever I needed to get up.  Everything seemed great (although I had no intention of it leading to us being together again).  Then late that night, I found a piece of mail addressed to Rob.  I picked it up and found that it was a privacy policy for a prepaid credit card.  I asked him what it was, and immediately he got defensive and said it wasn't his and that there must be some mistake.  Now you have to remember that Rob is supposed to be working on overcoming his porn addiction.  He is to hand over all bank and credit card statements to me.  But this is a card that is prepaid, so it doesn't have statements that come to the house.  I didn't want to start an argument, so I just kept the paper and left.  I am one of those people who doesn't believe in taking someone's word for it if there is something to suggest otherwise.  Call me untrusting, but after all I've been through, I've learned that my husband is a liar.  When something doesn't add up or something doesn't make sense, someone lying.  Why would a prepaid mastercard company send him a privacy policy notice, addressed directly to him at his home if he has never had anything to do with this company or their cards before?  Why would it have information about his account on it if it wasn't his?  Doesn't make sense.  Not to mention that when I said something, he didn't even look shocked, he just immediately defended himself and got angry.  When I got back to my parents house Sunday night, I looked online to see where this card could be purchased.  The only place in northern Ohio where that card can be purchased is 2 miles from where he works, just down the road.  That's the ONLY place within 100 miles of here.  Hmmm...  Now what does that tell me??  He's lying.   Then there's the troubles with my mom.  She has this control issue, and she is more controlling than Rob ever was.  I am 26 years old, will be 27 in less than 2 months.  I am the mother of a 5 year old boy, a college graduate, and have been living away from my parents since I was 18.  She treats me like I am 14 years old.  I have to be in the house by 9pm, off the phone by 10pm, in bed by 10:30pm.  No exceptions.  I had a job interview yesterday morning- nothing fancy, just a cashier position at the grocery store around the corner.  It would have been perfect- it's ½ a mile away within walking distance, and the hours were for 2nd shift.  I could have had my dad watch Jonathan (he agreed to do it) when he got home from work and I could have rode my bike or walked to and from work.  I told my mom, and she flipped out.  She doesn't want me working, she says I need to be home with my son all the time- her words, not mine.  I understand that I need to take care of my son, and I am dedicated to him, just as any mother would be.  But I need to make money.  She wants Jonathan living with her until the day she dies.  I already know because Rob and I lived with her in the beginning of 2006 when we moved back from Florida.  We stayed for just 2 months until we found a house.  She was so infuriated when we told her we were moving, even though it was only 5 streets away from her.  She refused to come to our new house for months.  She tried to stop us from moving and told my dad and my brother not to help us move.  She didn't care if Rob and I left, she didn't want us taking Jonathan.  She has threatened for years that she is going to call the Department of Child and Family Services on me for neglect and accuses me of being a horrible mother because I need time for 'me' once in a while.  Anytime Rob and I wanted to have a night out together, she'd refuse to babysit, insisting that we're parents now and there's no such thing as going out for the night when you have a child.  So, I always had my father and step-mother watch him.  Everytime she found out, she would flip out and say she was calling the police to tell them I abandoned my son.  Spending the night at a grandparents house so that mom and dad can go to dinner and bowling is NOT abandonment!!  Rob and I don't drink or do drugs.  We don't do anything that could even be considered dangerous.  Hell- we both always wear our seatbelts and have our 50-pound-about-to-be-in-kindergarten son in a booster seat at all times when riding in the car!  People laugh at us because of that- they tell us to get him a backless one because he's so big and he doesn't need a full-sized seat.  But, we want to be extra careful.  Does that sound like parents who don't care at all about their child and would just abandon him?  Or is she just a psychotic control freak??  I don't know. All I know is that I need to get away from her.  I need to get out of this house.  I am not even allowed to use either of their cars to drive 2 miles down the road to the support group for battered women that I joined.  She says I can walk if I want to go that badly, but the walk is uphill all the way there, and I don't mean just 'slightly' uphill.  Also, I would have to take Jonathan on that long walk and he's too big for a stroller.  And, he isn't allowed inside the room during group.  So if I'm going to go, I have to walk 2 miles with a 5 year old boy, and leave that 5 year old boy -who is autistic- alone in a hallway for 2 hours.  YAH RIGHT!!!She wants me to hand over all of Jonathan's SSI money on the first of every month.  This leaves me with no money at all.  I needed some clothes when I first came here, and she went crazy when she found out I bought a few things for myself.  Nothing expensive, I went to Walmart.  She got so mad and insisted that I hand over all the money I have because I was irresponsible.  I had 2 pairs of panties when I came here!!  How is buying myself cheapy underwear from Walmart being irresponsible?  I bought myself a cheap shirt and a pair of jeans because I had 2 pairs of jeans and one of them had a hole in the butt.  So yah, I bought myself some clothes- but I didn't spend hardly any money at all.  And I never buy things for myself, this was just something I needed and it was the first time I bought myself anything in a very long time (we're talking 6 months to a year). I'm thinking a shelter is probably going to be the best place for me, even though Jonathan's not going to be able to handle it.  But if I have to deal with this any longer, someone's going to het hurt.
