Newly Diagnosed RA

I have just been diagnosed with RA. I have always been healthy until 10 weeks ago. I woke up one morning unable to lift my arms or use my hands, horrible pain in every joint in my body. I could not even open my mouth because of the pain in my jaw. I could not sit up by myself or walk. My fiance took me to the ER. I was given tests and found out my RA number for my blood test was really high. Negative is 3.0 and mine was 300.0. Also my inflammation numbers were through the roof. I was told I have sudden onset severe RA.
I have a wonderful Rheumatologist. She acts like I am her only patient. She is starting me on Methotrexate and Humira injections. I am very nervous about the side affects of these drugs but the pain and immobility has been so severe that I am about ready to try anything just to feel better.
I have been on Predisone for 8 weeks and the side effects haven't been too bad but I know it isn't good to be on for a long time. I have had the sweats so bad it is embarrassing. I will be somewhere and just break out in a sweat so bad that the water just drips from my hair. And sleeping is hard too because of the night sweats. But it has helped the pain so I am thankful for it.
I am ready to move on to the new meds but apprehensive about the side affects. And from what other people have said I am not looking forward to the shots. I am thankful to have found this forum to have other people to talk to that are going through the same challenges.
Will update as my journey continues.....
