Newfound Strength
I did post in one of my groups yesterday about some newfound strength. I have finally come to realize that no matter how much I talk or want things to change, unless I take charge and do exactly what I need to, I will waste even more time continuing to be miserable.
I know many of you have been trying to tell me this for 85 years. Bare in mind I am old and blonde and a bit slow on the uptake(ok maybe stubborn too?) Stopping short of beating me over the head (Bill, put that 2 x 4 away!) it just took me my own sweet time to sink in. But I do finally see that once I put my mind to it and began to do exactly what I need to , I can and will finally see results.
So the days of throwing in the towel for a late night not so healthy snack leading to more of the same (knowing tomorrow I will start again)... or putting off the exercise and bike because I came home after work to rest for a bit first but waste away the time til it was too late. I am working on my priorities now. The exercises come first to get them in. Figuring out what I will have to try to get some of everything in (concentrating on more protein and veggies. ) I am also trying to limit the unhealthy crap I make (or if I do make something funky for him, I now have my own alternative that I can enjoy guilt free and look forward to) The days of me having to make a platter and take to him while my stuff gets cold or isn't even together yet are done. I do still cook dinner and the occasional breakfast or lunch, but he is now having to fend a bit for himself. I am not a servant to wait on him and put myself last. Been there, done that No more.
Sorry about my rambling... some things never change. lol I just wanted to share . I don't know where exactly this came from , but I do pray it is contagious and I would wish it on you all. The knowledge that we do have an opportunity to take steps toward feeling and looking better and KNOWING that we CAN accomplish anything if we do stay focused and work on it. I am determined to go after exactly what I want.
