New Years is Q-Day
I know that making resolutions on New Years for major changes like quitting smoking is not recommended. But I need a target, and I am preparing myself mentally now. Sometimes I ask myself, do I really need another cigarette? and I wait a while. I quit once 30 years ago by going cold turkey. My wife made me resume smoking 28 years ago, it was part of our whole dysfunctional relationship, which I was able to heal for a few years before she died in July. Then I quit again about 6 years ago when she put me in the Psychiatric Hospital - I tell people, if you really want to quit go somewhere where you are not allowed to smoke. I started again a few months ago as her health declined and I was under intense stress at work. I'm feeling optimistic about being smoke-free in 2015 forward.
