New Years Eve

So.. I am sitting here at work, listening to Dead Can Dance and drinking my Cafe Mocha trying to relax even though I am at work. Today, 7 years ago I lost my best friend, my favorite person in this world. My Grandmother. I had been working and took on a few extra hours when I got a call from my Father, telling me to come to the hospital. She had a heart attack on a Friday night while in her bedroom and didn't tell anyone, when she had another on Saturday morning, she couldn't escape that she needed help. She was taken to the emergency where she had yet another heart attack and was revived. She was scheduled for an angioplasty on Monday morning but when the time came, she was in no condition to undergo the procedure. I had visited her all weekend and before I went to work that Monday night. I was supposed to be finished and out by 10pm and I took on the last couple hours of a close shift when I got the call. I knew the moment I heard my Father's voice that She was gone but he didn't confirm or deny it over the phone. I jumped into a taxi and was the last to arrive but she was gone. Happy New Year. So, New Years Eve and New Years Day hasn't been the best of times for myself and my family over the years. We also have a lot of other family herths that have occured on, near or during the holiday season so its safe to say that I hate them and I am always happy when its all over.

Well it\'s over now sweetie. I\'m sorry that this is a difficult time for you as well. It has been for me since my Uncle Cliff passed away 3 yrs ago and this year it was bad too. But there\'s always some good with that bad and I think it\'s what we really do need to hold onto when times are hard. I love you. Head up. Smile. Love and Hugs, Marcy
