New Year's Goals 2014

It's time again to take stock of 2013 & set new goals for 2014.FinancialWell, the credit card has a balance (due to all the car expenses), but it should be able to be paid off shortly. For some reason, DH hasn't received a new card for the joint credit card, but that is a good thing (for the credit card anyway; I fear the debit card will suffer, but that is subject to the limit of the balance). The equity plan issued a notice that it will stop withdrawals & convert to a monthly payment. This, too, is a good thing. It'll keep DH from defaulting to using that to paying for everything & force our hand to pay for it. At first, I was worried about it budget-wise, but I guess what we're paying on it takes up the space of what used to be the oil bill. (A step forward, a step back?)PhysicalI need to get back in the exercise saddle again. It always falls apart at the very end of the year, but that's the one thing that "gives". I'm OK with that, but I really need to be mindful of my eating.Emotional2013 was about healthy boundaries, especially with Mean Sister. Basically, my approach with her & with my mom has been limited contact; I let them contact me for the most part. That way, I know they will be invested in the interaction when it happens. Not that I haven't spoken to them at all or not taken any intitiative. Like if I see something on FB that MS likes, I'll share it with her. Stuff like that.An emotional bonus is that my relationship with my son has improved. He still has his moments, but things are MUCH better.Looking ahead, it seems that I'm headed in the direction of "speaking up" as Leslie Vernick says. (Of course, it must be spoken with love.) But I've always been in a bad habit of not speaking up when I ought to. I'm particularly thinking about a passive-agressive co-worker whose baloney needs to be called upon. SpiritualStill listening to the Daily Audio Bible podcast. Still reading. I'm being very choosy about the things I get involved in & don't feel guilty when saying no. (Again, healthy boundaries!) The Women's Bible Study we just did was totally awesome & has opened my eyes to a lot.For my goal, I think it will be pursuing God's Truth. That sounds VERY vague, but it does apply to just about every facet of my life.
That's it!
