New Year here we go!
The first day of a new year seems like the right time to reflect a bit. My house closed escrow yesterday so that is one thing taken care of. I have two more months here as a tenant to find a new place to live and organize getting rid of accumulated items. My court date with the judge is at the end of February and we will hopefully finalize the financial details before that. My two kids are home with me this month which of course is great. There is a sense of melancholy here but we also have a strenght that is founded on what has happened to the three of us. My daughter and her mother have a sort of relationship that my daughter characterizes as a friend type thing rather than a mother daughter type of one and her twin brother still can't really stand to even see his mother. That of course is sad but it is not really my business. I am working hard over vacation grading papers and will hopefully have them done by next Monday when I go back to work. My best friend of 30 years just got his divorce last week so I do have someone to commiserate with. As far as women go, yes, I miss having contact with one tremendously. I had a fling with a friend for a while but it clearly was not the right thing for me. We are still friends but she was not the person that I am looking for. I am healing but it happens mostly in its own time. I have plans to do fun things, like go to the Phoenix Open golf tournament in February and to Spain this summer. It is all falling into place but I do miss having someone that I can love who loves me. I do have my cat, Marr, who loves me with all her heart. I am sure that this year will be better than last year and that the growth and pain that was handed to me will be balanced by great joy to come!

Great joy to come! Amen to that. I am waiting to hear from all my friends here at DS about the joyful times. Keep us posted. HUGS
I understand the cat thing. I\'ve bought two dogs since this whole thing started. They will always love us.
You sound like you have a great support system. That\'s awesome. Just lean on them when you need to. And us of course!
