New weight loss goal.
Since having been on prednisone now for almost a year my weight has ballooned to 260.
Looking to get down to at least 160 - so 100 lbs to lose.
Trying a low-carb, higher protein diet using "proti diet" supplements. This type of diet has worked well for me in the past. Definitely time to take loosing the weight seriously.

Oh sympathy! I sometimes look at my DS friends list and wonder about how everyone is. I havent noticed anything on site from you for a while but then I come and go on here and ignored it for quite a while after the kerfuffle when Anna Oz and others left.
Weight is a battle with that double edged sword prednisone. Love and hate it!! High protein is good for keeping the hunger pangs away!! I so struggle with that. I was on high protein for a while last year but had trouble with elevated kidney results. Apparently if you are on prednisone you have to be a little careful as prednisone can affect kidneys. But it isnt everyone who reacts like this.
Now I almost continuously do a version of the low calorie eating two days a week and in a careful manner the others. ie I do not go out and consume a whole bar of chocolate no matter what my inner food demon is demanding...
I expect you have read about this diet where for two days, not consecutive, of any week you only eat 600 calories. I eat a little more than that, maybe 800 and use filling vegetable soup and big salads on those days. Maybe that would work for you. I pick busiest days so I am distracted by activity. Monday and Thursday in my case.
Keep us posted how you are going. I hope some other of your friends post as I find it helps if I have a bit of back up and accountability when I am on a food regime. My family are good both about the need to keep my weight down (cholesterol is improving, I dont want even more drugs) and the eating regime which helps my RA.
Good luck.
