New Video Card
Ordered a Radeon R7 240 4GB this past weekend on Amazon. Thanks to free 2 day shipping from Amazon Prime, it will be here tomorrow (Tuesday). Or later today since it's almost 2AM. Can't wait to get this installed so I can get to streaming games.

I am not aware of the r7\'s, are they new? Sounds like it would do more then stream, it would kick some arse in high intensive FPS games too hehe. Congrats, this is how I felt in anticiption of my new tablet arriving in mail.

Well Ashley, the R7 is last gen Radeons. The R9 is the latest in Radeon. But of course with investing money for gaming comes a gaming friend of mine asking me why I invested in Radeon and not Nvidia. And with that comes implications that I SHOULD have bought Nvidia instead. 4GB of V-RAM in a Radeon that is last generation for $89 or $200+ for a 4GB card of Nvidia. Sorry bro, I\'d rather save that money and let it go towards Christmas presents for my family.
I\'d rather save my money too. I used to have a friend that would spend 400 dollar for the new top of the line video card. I always knew he wasted money on upgrading computers, because his top of the line parts wouldn\'t even be utilized by games until 2 years later!
Remember the dual core days? OK, so this guy gets 8MB of ram and thinks its better then the 4GB of ram he had before. Only games at that time, most of them only utilized 2GB of ram, let alone 4GB or 8GB. How much did he spend on memory? 200 dallars. And he thought he was better then me cause all I had was 2GB of ram. This was back in the days when memory cost a lot of memory, both in single core and dual core days.
Back in 2012 I got my new computer, a notebook 2.2GZ quad core with auto turbo to 3.1GZ. It came with 8GB of memory which was enough and a Nvidia Gforce 640M. Incase you didn\'t know, thats a mid range graphics, but this computer kicks ass in high intensive games. Even plays the new Alien Isolation game on ultra settings.
When I found out that my notebook had an extra memory slot and was upgradable to 16GB, I went ahead and bought another 8GB stick, cost me only 30 bucks. Did my notebook need the extra memory for games? Probably not, but I figure\'d I\'d max it out when memory was so cheap. Point is, I didn\'t waste thousands of dollars in computer upgrades, I waited for prices to come down, and I only spent 879 dollars for my new notebook in 2012 from Newegg.
Unlike my ex friend, I don\'t have a superiority complex where I have to be the best and rub it in other\'s faces for shits and giggles. I get what I can get when I need it. And also, unlike my ex friend, if I had 2 kids, I\'d be saving up a collage fund for them, instead of wasting thousands in computer upgrades. Oh thats another thing too, I only build or buy new computers once every 6-8 years. This guy was upgrading every year.
