Hello so i have psuedotumor cerbi .One day i was working and noticed a white flim over my eyes and thought that i needed new glasses well by the time i got to the eye dr i had constant headaches and i told the eye dr what was happening and the dr sent me to a special eye dr.That was when everything started that eye dr said i had papliedma and sent me for abrain mri which was clear. Then he said hewill send me to neurologist the neurologst did a spinal tap which revealed that my pressure was 31 the spinal tap was very painfully even under florscope.I explained to the dr that i didnt want anymore spinal taps so he put me on diamox and said then i cant help u.Thats when i had to be an advocate for my health i went to john hopkins and saw dr samurain who was my second option and he said that yes i did have the rare disorder. He then said that i needed to find another neurologist so i found one and he didnt even know what psuedotumor cerbi was so i changed to my neurologist i have now in dec 2014 which decided that my last bit of hope from the dizziness headaches blurred vision double vision nausous and vomiiting was to refer me to get a shunt.I went to the neurosugeon and told them what was going on and the resident said the neurosugeon wasnt in that day so he would call me so he finally called me a week later adn said that they would do the lp shunt.Thru the whole process i didnt see the actual surgeon till dec19th the day of my operation. After the operation i had such bad low pressure headaches and n&v that i had to stay in the hospital for 5 days when i finally got released it was the day befoer christams eve .Once i got home and settled my headaches and eyes startyed to feel much better so i told my husband that he could start going back to work well the day before he did i had spinal fluid leaking from my back incision so i called the neurosurgeon on call who said it should be fine but come intot he office the next day which was dec31 2014 .That vist was a dr that i never met before telling me to take antibotics and steriods to stop the spinal fluid leaking .That night my husband was going to get the precritpion when i called hima dn told him i was dizzy couldnt hardly see and was throwing up at that point by the time my husband came home i couldnt feel my arms or legs so we called the ambulance at the hospital they said i had a brain bleed and transfered me to my neurosurgeons hospital they then did a ct of my abd and noticed that my shunt had came out of where it should be .So i was in the hopsital and everyday ct scans of my head finally jan 2 2015 they fixed my shunt which coiled in my spine .After that surgury my back hurts and my headaches are worse again and have such bad leg pain and when i finally left the hospital 1/5/15 i had to have a walker and the brain bleed was resolving .I have now been thru physical therpy for dizziness and baalcne i no long have a walkewr thank god but still limping due to back and leg pain as well as stomach pain from the tubbing.I start pain managment tommorow and i am now seeing a new neuosugeon out of state at wake forest bnaptist health hopeing that they will convert my lp shunt to a vp shunt and remove the lp shunt all together but i wont find that out till later.I also have prepheral vision loss out of my right eye and whoosing still in my ears i really hope the new neuro will help due to the fact that my brain bleed never got figured out adn my first neuosugeon didnt care .So thats my story sorry its long but if u do read it adn have question ur more then welcome to ask.
