That’s what Paul is saying in Ephesians—we can live normal lives and still use the time we have wisely to honor God. Walking is something commonly done every day. It’s a metaphor here, as throughout Scripture, for our manner of life—how we live. Considering the analogy, let’s switch our perspective a bit.
Teach us to use our gifts well in order to grow deeper in our relationship with you, and to love our neighbors more deeply as well. Through the example of your beloved Son, help us to always act with charity and love towards our underserved brothers and sisters. Be with us always, we humbly pray, so that we may love more deeply in this life. You call us to you by name and you know what is our written in our hearts.
Once we learn to live a life that’s Christ-centered, then we will understand how we can glorify God in all things. In this way, we can lead a purpose driven life for God. Take time to review some verses that apply to your life and write them down and place them in different locations. This can help you in your daily walk and serve as reminders of the many promises that comes from Jesus Christ.

I have tried, in the past, to volunteer with charities and organizations that help the poor. Always turned away because of my criminal record. It was a stupid act done when I was 18.
