new norm

Adjusting to this new "norm".  This new "norm" is a great thing!  We have our baby back!  He's been so open, happy, interactive, responsible, and fun to be around.  I am grateful for every moment.  I do know that there is always the possibility of this "thing" reoccurring but for now I am going to be grateful that he is doing well.  It does bother me that is still has contact with a major drug using "friend" but so far I see no indication that he is using.  All I can do is remind him to stay the course, and to "weed his garden"  - as his counselor suggests. BTW - T's grandparents are going to be thrilled about the thank you cards he sent thanking them for the birthday gifts they sent.  He not only wrote them - thanking them for the gifts BUT he also thanked them for all of their support and prayers for him over the past year!  He doesn't know I read one - not that it would matter to him.  He accidently sealed the envelopes before addressing them.  I had to open one up to make sure he had the right one...that's when I saw it.  It warms my heart.  I know it will do the same for them! Other son?  Who knows?  Time will tell.  I  can only pray that isn't headed down the wrong path.  Maybe school will be what he needs.  Maybe it will give him a sense of purpose.
