New meds,new treatment,......new direction????

Good morning journal, the time is now 7:51am,I have been awake for around an hour or so,and, although I don't feel like being at my desk right now,I am,so I may as well type something and see what appears on the page.Yesterday,I kept my scheduled appointment with my doctor, and,as she promised,my wife went with me armed with a list of questions and suggestions, the questions she hoped the doctor would have answers for and the suggestions she hoped that he would take on board and consider.First on the list was my continued involuntary weight loss,it has left me feeling more weak and helpless with each passing day,so,in an effort to put some weight back on, the doctor has prescribed a months supply of something called Ensure,it comes in a can and is a food supplement,I have never heard of it,but my doctor and my wife agreed to try it,so try it I will!.Next on the agenda was an increase in my anti psychotic medicine quetiapine, they came to an agreement on 200mls twice a day,my anti depressant mirtazapine stays the same 45mls per day taken at night. For my continuing breathing problems, good old doc has prescribed yet another inhaler to be taken twice a day along with my other two inhalers, spireva, which I take once in the morning upon rising, and my salbutomol/ventolin which I use when required. The new inhaler is something called symbicort which I have to take twice a day, again, once in the morning and once again twelve hours later. He has also put me down for pulmonary rehab,I have no idea what that is as I have never gone before, but I guess that my COPD/Emphysems is at the stage where going to pulmonary rehab is the next logical step in my treatment.I also have to factor into my day a little light weight training and step ups to develop some muscle mass, not easy when you are as weak as I am physically, but I will get no better until I push myself a little so I have to try it at least. Last thing discussed?,my mental well being, the doctor agrees with the mental health specialist who called me a few days ago suggesting a step up to the next level of mental health treatment, secondary mental health care, with a dedicated mental health team monitoring me frequently rather than just seeing one person once a month.Well journal,I guess that is all my news for now,so,until the next time, may God continue to bless our home and the occupants within, and may THIS day be the first day of my recovery.
