Happy Holidays,
Wow. Its been awhile since my last entry which was my first. I just want to say how thankful I am to be amongst a select club such as ours, although no one really wants to be here, but here we are nonetheless. Thank you one and all.
Well, it finally caught up with me and I was forced to retire very suddenly from my warm nook in the Virgin Islands and journey back to a place where it all began for me. Back to the land of mountains, tall pine trees, white snow and good friends. Yes, this disease caught me with my financial pants down and if it wasn't for my dearest friends, Tom and Barbara in the Shire of New England, I would be in the dire'st of straits!
I've applied to all of the Federal programs available for me and now I am in the 90 day waiting period for final decisions. Of course I have the usual 'pity party' moments but I've learned to climb out of that hole, and after reading about all of your hardships and all you face with your daily problems, has enabled me to feel positive, strong and confident about myself and my future. Thank you!

Freddy, You will be just fine, You have your friends there in helping and you have us on the Discussion Group. Yes this is a vast change, but your a sailor and you can adapt to it without issue. Soft smile, we have all had our pity parties, and as long as we don\'t let them rule we do fine.
