New Journey after Losing Job.
I was just terminated from my job today; I just lost it when my supervisor was nitpicking and being emotionally abusive. This was happening since he had started working at my now former work site. After he told me to leave, I went to the company's official office and saw a representative of HR. They told me that there would be an investigation and when I went back to my site, The General Manager had told me that I was being terminated. I wasn't sad at all; I saw it coming. I was overworked, irritable, and not enjoying a social life.
I value work, life, balance. Now I want to get back to it. I didn't have those 3 things lined up for a year and it had ended today. My resume is ready and started job searching yesterday. The shock is wearing off and right now, I am tired. I just want to get some sleep and think about where I should go next. Its a good thing I have varied work experiences and a college degree. What I will do for the next few days is reflect on what I have lost and gained in the process. From my former job, I have learned that I am resourceful and can adapt to a work environment. I also learned the need to speak out for yourself which the Assistant Manager had exploited to his advantage.
I want to read the books I have downloaded on my Amazon Fire and listen to the cds I have purchased recently and buy the ones I had planned on buying before I was fired. I am going to listen to my audiobook which I have gotten from the library that will do me good. Who needs toxic workplaces? I would rather work at a workplace with few people than those who have a really lot of people. I am not a yes person and discovered that fighting for me is important. For the first time, I have become my own superhero and don't regret it. Yes I am still in shock that I am not working at this moment, I am going to be fine.
I have posted a comment in The Unemployment group which I have just joined and expanded on my post in this journal. Tonight, I will have a peaceful night's rest in a long time. I don't have to go back to that toxic workplace. The only good thing was that I enjoyed speaking to the customers and have earned this respect. I will miss them. I usually have a short journal on here and decided to write a longer one because I wanted to vent rather than hold all that baggage inside. That is me taking care of myself. So one door closes and another one is about to open. My past has ended and my future has begun.

You are so right. Sometimes what seem at first like bad things turn out to be good things. What kind of work do you do?
I was a Maintenance Personnel. It was my permanent assignment and had to deal with a crappy boss for a year. I am not sad that I was terminated from the job. Now I can focus on finding a better job and what I should do in my life.
