New here
Hi Guys,
I'm new here, obviously. I really have no idea how to introduce myself. I guess I'll start with the basics and let it unravel as it will. My name is Jeremy and I'm 20. I was diagnosed with depression about a year and a half ago while I was attending college. I confided in one friend often who basically said it was getting to the point where she believed I was so low that if I didn't tell my parents or a doctor she would do it out of my best interest, I'm not suicidal exactly just very dark thought wise. It runs in the family. Anyways this friend is a good friend but since we've graduated we've gone our separate ways. In fact I really don't have any friends here now that I've returned from college, and the friends I've had from school live so far away that communication is so rare it's almost as if we don't talk at all anyways.
I'm also gay. I've known since elementary school and I've been out to friends since around 8th grade and family since about my 10th grade year. I'm fine with being homosexual and I don't believe they're linked at all. I was put on bupropion twice a day. It worked for a while but the doctor believed that I was all better some few months on it. I was just recently urged by my parents to return on it because my mood swings got out of control and Mom being the intuitive person that she is seems to be able to know when I'm "crashing" as she calls it. She's usually right.
I identify as gay, but I haven't had a relationship is some odd 5 years. I was in a closet relationship at one point in time and the guy I was with found out that I had came out publicly from his sister. He just stopped talking to me, ignoring me anytime I came around. I've never really let anyone else since, not that I haven't tried I just get choked up and go worst possible scenario in my head before I even get a chance to talk to someone.
Another thing that I've developed over the years is extreme anxiety. It's mostly when I'm attempting to drive, though I don't get very far. I have no idea what triggers it, no thoughts that would induce anxiety but every time I get into the driver seat I go into a mini attack that I have to be talked out of. I think it's been getting worse, as I start to feel my heart race just thinking about having to drive. Needless to say I don't have a license I don't have a job either, I recently just graduated but that really isn't an excuse. It's going on three months. I'm working on it. The bupropion had helped some with that as well now that I'm on it again, but it hasn't really improved much.
Signed,Jeremy
