New here

Hello, I'm new here and I'm making mistakes navigating, which is how this entry got labeled as educational. It is anyhting but. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Valerie, but most people just call me VaL, please feel free to do so. I was wondering if anybody has ever beaten this, ands if so, how. My blood glucose was 122 this morning, I am not aware of my A1c (?). I was dx'd in was  May of 2011 but was not told until the following November, the clinic I go to was going through some changes and my condition kind of got lost. I also have had 2 strokes and have a cerebral aneurysm. I do have left-sided neuropathy from the second stroke, not the diabetes, which I think resaults in bilateral neuropathy, in any case, that developed while I was hospitalised for the strokes, about a year before the diabetes(type 2). I walk about 2 miles daily,  weather permitting and am trying to lose weight. I also have high blood pressure, not v ery well controlled. I have my diabetes group meeting this afternoon, but we only meet monthly and I wanted something that I could more often, so when i got this computer for Mother's Day, I started looking around and found you.Does anyone have any tips about eating, breakfast, especially? I don't like eggs and cereal (not sweetened) just seems wrong. Can't wait to hear from anyone. Thanks.

thank you for writing about my loss it is sad and will be every time we think about it but it is getting better and since she has 2 healthy girls they will try again soon. as for diabetes I am at a loss there even though I am a nurse, figure that one out. I can\'t remember when I developed it because of my memory loss but I am on insulin and my diet stinks and I am active but I don\'t really exercise ): I would love to loose weight too and I tried weight watchers and lost 5 pounds o maybe I should try again. Have you tried anything like that? I am just not a big veggie person so it makes it harder. Well keep on searching and let me know if I can research anything for you
