New Grandaughter arrived today!
Our 15th grandchild arrived safe and sound today. Although they live on the other side of the country, through modern tecnology we were able to skype and see her and visit with her siblings. Not the same as being there and holding her, but better than just a still picture. She is so sweet and at 8lbs 5oz, is a little butter ball.
We now have 6 grandaughters and 9 grandsons. The girls are catching up - kind of. Somehow I ended up with only 3 grandsons who live near me. While we enjoy them immensely, we still miss the others and love every minute that we get to visit them. And I would love to have a grandaughter close by to spoil. Three of our grandchildren live on the other side of the world and we have not even met them in person yet - only skyped. We are planning a trip to see them next spring if all falls in place.
I can't believe I really have 15 grandchildren. Just yesterday, I had my first baby!!

Congratulations! Wow; 15 Grandchildren. I had to read that twice to make I read it correctly. And you sound just as excited like it was the first, Grandmothers are truly special people.Again Congratulations. :-) Brian
Congratulations Carol,
Wonderful news, that is really something to celebrate! I can\'t believe you have 15 grandchildren, that\'s amazing - and you just luck a mere slip of girl! How did that happen?
Julie
oops - I can\'t count lol This makes 6 granddaughters and 9 grandsons. That\'s what I get for writing this so late last night.
How did it happen Julie??? I can\'t figure it out either. Since I am still only 29, it is pretty amazing isn\'t it. lol
Whats with this double posting stuff?? I would think it was the PD shaking but see that others are doing the same.
Anyways - fixed the numbers.
Thanks Julie and Brian!
Hugs
Congratulations on the added healthy grandbaby. Grandchildren are so wonderful. I have 5 granddaughters but 4 of them unfortunately live across the country too. Skype is our tool for visiting also. I hope you can hold that newborn in your arms soon. Hugs, Dan
Just happened to read this post today - while trying out some of the \"behind the scenes\" features of this site. (Usually so pooped when I sit with my laptop that I\'m lucky just to read/reply to the posts before I fall asleep! LOL)
Wow! #15!!! That is truly amazing.....congrats to you all! We went from 2 to 4 when my daughter and two grandsons moved in with her boyfriend (should be another word that describes this situation better!). Joe has two kiddos. So - I now have a 4 yr old grandson; 2 6 yr old grandsons; and a 9 yr old granddaughter. I have had a year to get to know them and have told my daughter those added two are mine now!
My first thought when reading about #15 was, \"How does the gift giving work with that many?\" I mean - I would grow broke!!! (Though I have said adding an extra 2 this Christmas doesn\'t mean I spend more, it just means I divide what I usually spend by 4 (I\'ll keep you posted on how that goes! LOL)
Is there ever a time your entire family is able to get together? Guess not - if you have 3 you will be meeting in person for the first time this Spring. (So excited for you to have this trip to look forward to!) Thank goodness Skype is available!
Congrats, again! New babies are so wonderful!!! Nothing like the innocence and newness of a newborn! HUGS....Laura
Yup - PG - the gift giving is getting tricky and we are still trying to figure out a smart and econmical way to handle it. Any ideas anyone?
Last time we were all together (minus most of the grandbabies not born yet) was my youngest daughters wedding - 4 years ago. It was quite overwelming for her groom as he is an only child. I am not sure he will ever adjust. lo But the good news is, he survived he 5 siblings and didn\'t run off.
Let me know how the not spending anymore money goes this Christmas...
Hugs!
Thanks everyone - we really have been very blessed family wise.
